I was a professional photographer for 20 years of my life. I started photography when I was in grade 8 at what was then Sutherland High School in North Vancouver. In 1979 it became Sutherland Senior High and I was in the first graduating class of 1981.
I was using my grandfather's camera which I think he brought back from the war. He served for all 6 years. The camera was very cool and was marked Made in Germany (not West or East - just Germany) which gives you an idea of its age.
After graduation and some time in Victoria I came back to Vancouver worked as a bike courier while still dreaming of a photography career. I bought a new camera and started working as an assistant to Kent Kallberg who had a studio in Yaletown.
As mentioned on the main page I have lived overseas which is where most of my professional work was done. Some has won awards. I still shoot now but prefer my iPhone because it is light, immediate and the image quality is sufficient for my intended purposes.
All these images can be enlarged to a significant size. For example the wave shot from Tofino is the width of a queen size bed and looks amazing.
All images are for sale. Price on application.
